Ken Miller is a lifelong resident of Pulaski County growing up on the family farm near Dixon. He is the son of Dolores and Myron Miller, a veteran of WWII. After graduating as valedictorian of his Dixon High School class, Kenny attended University of Missouri at Columbia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1984, he moved back to the area and married childhood sweetheart Kathy Gaub Miller.
Because of his talent as an artist, Ken worked as a freelance artist and sign maker. Upon the death of the Pulaski County circuit clerk in 1987, Ken was appointed by John Ashcroft to fill out the term of the Pulaski County Circuit Clerk. He immediately made two changes that were urgently needed: the courthouse had closed every day at lunch time leaving many frustrated citizens locked out from noon to 1:00 every day and the passport money was pocketed by the former circuit clerks instead of deposited into the county treasury. These two changes resulted in better service to the citizens of Pulaski county and deposited a sizable amount of money that rightfully belonged to the county. Today, the passport money is an essential source of funding for the Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Deeds office.
After finishing the term of Circuit Clerk and Recorder, Ken accepted a position as Vice President with the Bank of Crocker. His experience in banking sparked an interest in starting his own business. He is the owner of an Indoff franchise that specializes in office supplies, janitorial supplies and office furniture.
Ken and Kathy live in St. Robert with several rescued pets.
